GOD gave us HIS WORD to show and testify of HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST as John 5:39 states, JESUS is talking - " You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of ME." And of course in John 1:1& 2 it states that - In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with GOD, and the WORD was GOD. HE was in the beginning with GOD.
The WORD also testifies of how it was written in 2nd Peter 1:19-21 it states - We also have the prophetic word made more sure, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man but holy men of GOD spoke as they were moved by the HOLY SPIRIT.
So the next time you hear someone recite John 3:16, which states - " For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS only begotten SON, that whosoever believes in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life." you can believe that GOD said it, because HE testified that HE said it. HE sent HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST to earth to be the payment for our sin. JESUS's death on the cross, was where that payment was made. The FATHER's requirements were paid in full and our sin has been forgiven. So, PLEASE, look into GOD's WORD, accept that you are a sinner in need of a SAVIOR, accept JESUS's payment for your sin, pray and ask HIM to forgive you and to come into your heart and save you. HE WILL, HE longs to save those who look to HIM thru HIS WORD, the Bible.
OH !!! by the way my first Bible only lasted me 5 years and it's in many pieces. I spent $100 for my second Bible in 1996. I thought if I bought a good leather bound study Bible it would last longer. Well, the leather cover is being held together with book aide tape and all my maps, study helps and part of the book of Revelation, in the back are falling out. So you can surmise by the way my Bible looks as to how my life may be going, how about yours ???
Your servant in CHRIST,
Julie
