" This Could Be YOUR LAST Five Minutes Alive ! "

 

It has been estimated that three people around the world will die every second (According to the Population Institute of the U.S.). This means that by the time you finish reading this post, over nine hundred people will have died. For the next five minutes, I want you to imagine what it would be like if these were your last moments alive. After all, someone in your city will likely die in the next few minutes. It could be you. Why not ?

When you die, someone will place a sheet or a blanket over your head. An ambulance may take you to the hospital for an autopsy. The undertaker will be called, and arrangements will be made to place you in a grave. People will come to the funeral and shed tears over your lifeless body. They will look at your cold, blank face and mourn, but you will be gone. They will slowly drive to a cemetery with your body in a casket. At the cemetery, they will carry your casket to a hole in the ground and lower it down. People will leave, recover, and perhaps someday, forget that your body is there.

Your five minutes are almost gone, so I must get to the point. When your time is up and you have died, where are you going ? We have already decided where your body is going, but what about your soul, that part of you that makes you who you are ? Will you be in Heaven or a Devil's Hell ? Oh, yes, you will be in one place or the other. So in these remaining minutes, I will tell you what to do to get to the place of your choice.

IF your choice is a Devil's Hell, do nothing ! You have already done enough ! "For the wages of sin is death;. . ." (Romans 6:23a). "The wicked shall be turned into Hell . . ." (Psalm 9:17)

IF however, you choose to go to Heaven, you must do several things. First, you must believe you are a sinner. "For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of GOD;" (Romans 3:23).

Secondly, you must believe you deserve to go to Hell. "Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon ALL men, for that ALL have sinned." (Romans 5:12).

The third thing that you must do is to repent (turn to GOD from your sin) of your sins. ". . .As I live, saith the LORD GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. . ." (Ezekiel 33:11).

You must also believe JESUS died to pay for your sins (the Good News of the Gospel). "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you,. . .by which also ye are saved,. . . For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and the HE was buried, and that HE rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:" (1st.Corinthians 15:1a,2a,3-4). "But GOD commendeth HIS love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, CHRIST died for us." (Romans 5:8).

Finally, you need to trust JESUS to be your personal LORD and SAVIOR. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved." (Romans 10:13).

Your time is short in this world. The decision is your own personal responsibility. "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" (Hebrews 9:27). I will tell you what you must do to go to Heaven. You must acknowledge your sins, repent, and admit that you are sinner in need of forgiveness.

Confess to GOD, in prayer, that you know JESUS died for you on the cross, was buried and rose again for you. Ask HIM to help you turn from your unbelief and to come into your heart and save you. Here is a simple prayer that you can pray with all your heart or pray one like it:

LORD, I know that I am a sinner, and I believe YOU died and rose again for me. I am trusting YOU to forgive me, come into my heart and save me. Help me to live for you always. In JESUS' name I pray, AMEN

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD JESUS, and shalt believe in thine heart that GOD hath raised HIM from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9). Everlasting life begins when you receive CHRIST as you personal LORD and SAVIOR. The LORD JESUS said, "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish" (John 10:28).

Did you receive HIM as your personal LORD and SAVIOR ? If you did, and your life ended right now, you would be in the glories of Heaven for the rest of eternity. That is GOD's promise to you !

Have YOU Believed Another Gospel ?

The Bible teaches that the Gospel is JESUS CHRIST's death, burial & resurrection for our sins. According to GOD's WORD, placing your complete trust in CHRIST's atoning death is the only way to Heaven. "JESUS said unto him (Thomas), I AM the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE: no man comes unto the FATHER, but by ME." (John 14:6). Although this message is clearly presented in the Bible, there are many people who teach other ways to GOD. Have YOU believed another Gospel ?

The word Gospel means, "Good News or Glad Tidings." The Apostle Paul declared in 1st.Corinthians 15:1-4 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel, which I preached unto you,. . .by which also ye are saved,. . . For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that HE was buried, and that HE rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:" Trusting in JESUS CHRIST for your Salvation is the Gospel the Bible teaches. Have YOU believed another Gospel ?

Another Gospel Deceives Your Mind !

2nd.Corinthians 4:4 states, "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious Gospel of CHRIST, WHO is the image of GOD, should shine unto them." Many people are blinded by vain teachings. Ephesians 5:6 states, "Let no man deceive you with vain words:" The word vain means "having no value; worthless, empty." The only message of real value is that Salvation comes by faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of JESUS CHRIST. Have YOU believed another Gospel ?

Another Gospel Damns Your Soul !

Peter asks in 1st.Peter 4:17b, ". . .what shall the end be of them that obey NOT the Gospel of GOD ?" GOD gives the answer in 2nd.Thessalonians 1:8-9. "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not GOD, and that obey not the Gospel of our LORD JESUS CHRIST: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction. . ." If you think your good deeds, church background, water baptism, or obedience to a set of religious rules will help you escape this punishment, you are not obeying the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST. Have YOU believed another Gospel ?

Another Gospel Denies GOD's WORD !

Paul states in Galatians 1:7-9,11 ". . .;but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the Gospel of CHRIST. But though we, or an angel from Heaven, preach any other Gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be ACCURSED. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other Gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be ACCURSED. . .But I certify you, brethren, that the Gospel which was preached of me is not after man." The Bible clearly teaches that a person must believe the Gospel to go to Heaven. To teach any other way of Salvation is to deny GOD's WORD. Have YOU believed another Gospel ?

The Gospel of JESUS CHRIST

Gives Assurance of Eternal Life !

Paul stated in Romans 1:16, "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of CHRIST: for it is the power of GOD unto Salvation to every one that believes;" Friend, GOD does not want you to go to a Devil's Hell when you die. In fact, the greatest gift ever given was the Gospel, because it shows GOD's love for YOU. The Gospel reveals that even though you are a sinner and deserve an eternal punishment in a Devil's Hell, you can be forgiven if you will believe GOD's WORD and place your complete trust in CHRIST's atoning death. GOD promises in Romans 10:9-10, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD JESUS, and shalt believe in thine heart that GOD hath raised HIM from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto Salvation." 

Will you agree with GOD that you need to be saved and receive JESUS CHRIST as your personal LORD and SAVIOR ? If you will, pray this simple prayer or one like it with all your heart:

" Are YOU a Christian ? "

How long have you been a Christian ?

     You may have a time you think of as a reference point for when you became a Christian. You may say, "I have been a Christian all of my life. I was born a Christian."

Really, how did you become a Christian ?

     You may say, "I try to keep the Ten Commandments and do the best I can." Some people say, "I became a Christian when I got water baptized." Others say, "I was born into a Christian family."

How does someone become a Christian ?

     If someone could become a Christian by being born into a Christian family, by keeping the Ten Commandments, or by being water baptized, we need to ask ourselves a very important question: Why then did JESUS have to come to earth and die on the cross ? My Friend, the bible has the answer !

     ". . .if righteousness come by the law, then CHRIST is dead in vain." (Galatians 2:21). JESUS had to suffer and die on the cross, because none of these things can make us Christians. The Bible states in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of GOD: NOT of works, lest any man should boast." A work is something man can do. Being water baptized is a work. GOD said salvation is NOT of works, so being water baptized cannot make anyone a Christian.

     Eli, the High Priest, had 2 sons that GOD called the sons of Belial or the sons of the Devil. Adam and Eve admitted they were sinners and placed their faith in GOD. They had two sons born into their family, Cain and Abel. Cain was rejected by GOD. This shows us that just being born into a family that believes in GOD is not enough.

     The Bible also says in Galatians 3:11, "But that no man is justified by the Law in the sight of GOD. . .", so we can see that no one can become a Christian by keeping the Ten Commandments.

     We know that no one has ever been born a Christian through a physical birth, because JESUS said in John 3:3, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of GOD." Our response should be like the Philippian jailor, "What must I do to be saved ?"

     JESUS said in Mark 1:15, ". . .repent ye, and believe the Gospel." The Gospel can be explained like this: Because we are all children of Adam, we are all born sinners. "Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12). "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you,. . .by which also ye are saved,. . .For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that HE was buried, and that HE rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:" (1st.Corinthians 15:1-4).

     In Romans 5:8 GOD says, "But GOD commendeth HIS love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, CHRIST died for us." JESUS paid the price for our sins. HE died and shed HIS blood in our place. GOD says if we will admit that we are sinners, believe that JESUS paid for our sins with HIS OWN blood, and receive HIM by faith, HE will give us eternal life. Romans 10:9-10 states, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD JESUS, and shalt believe in thine heart that GOD hath raised HIM from the dead, thou shalt be saved.      GOD says, "BEHOLD, NOW is the accepted time, BEHOLD, NOW is the day of salvation."  No one is promised any more time than the moment you are now living in. Do not put it off. GOD has promised eternal life to all those who put their faith in HIM. "And this is the record, that GOD has given to us eternal life, and this life is in HIS SON. He that has the SON has life; and he that has not the SON of GOD has not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the SON of GOD; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the SON of GOD." (1st.John 5:11-13).

" Life's Greatest Decision"

 

     The greatest decision you will ever make is to accept or reject eternal life ! To have peace with GOD and the assurance of Heaven, you must have eternal life !

     You see, when GOD created Adam and Eve and put them in the Garden of Eden, they knew nothing about sin. GOD visited them in the cool of the day, and they enjoyed sweet fellowship with their CREATOR. GOD only made one restriction. "And the LORD GOD commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the Garden thou may freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eat thereof thou shalt surely die." (Genesis 2:16-17).

     In spite of GOD's blessings, Adam and Eve disobeyed GOD and ate of the forbidden tree. That day they died spiritually. "For the wages of sin is death. . ." (Romans 6:23). By their own choice, they were separated from GOD, WHO loved them. They were driven from the Garden, and mankind has been separated from GOD ever since. "Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12). So you and I, like Adam, are sinners. We have not obeyed all of GOD's commandments. "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" (Romans 3:10). "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of GOD;" (Romans 3:23).

     Some people think they can earn GOD's acceptance by doing good works. "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. . ." (Isaiah 64:6). GOD says your good works are not good -- in HIS sight. You are still a sinner separated from GOD ! My Friend, there is a terrible penalty for sin. If you die in your sins, you will spend eternity in the flames of a Devil's Hell ! "And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire." (Revelation 20:15). "And the smoke of their torment ascended up forever and ever. . ." (Revelation 14:11).

     The Good News, the Gospel, is that the LORD JESUS CHRIST has paid the full penalty for your sin. "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, . . . by which also ye are saved, . . . For I delivered unto you, first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that HE was buried, and the HE rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:" (1st.Corinthians 15:1a,2a, 3-4). GOD has made a way for you to be reconciled to HIM. "But GOD commended HIS love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, CHRIST died for us." (Romans 5:8). "For GOD so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only begotten SON, that whosoever believes in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16). The Bible states, ". . . HE was wounded for our transgressions, HE was bruised for our iniquities. . ." (Isaiah 53:5).

     Because JESUS shed HIS precious blood for all of your sins, GOD will free you from the guilt, the power, and the penalty of sin, if you will repent (turn to GOD from your sin) . . . and believe the Gospel." (Mark 1:15). The Apostle Paul preached to all ". . . that they should repent and turn to GOD . . ." (Acts 26:20). The Gospel is "that CHRIST died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that HE was buried, and that HE rose again the third day. . .(1st.Corinthians 15:3,4). ". . . Believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and thou shalt be saved . . ." (Acts 16:31).

     Neither your family, water baptism, church membership, nor good works of any kind can save you. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of GOD: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8,9). JESUS said, ". . . I AM the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE: no man comes unto the FATHER, but by ME." (John 14:6). ". . . the gift of GOD is eternal life through JESUS CHRIST our LORD." (Romans 6:23).

     My Friend, if you reject GOD's gift of eternal life, not only will you remain separated from GOD now, but also when you die without CHRIST, you will be eternally separated from GOD in the flames of a Devil's Hell. Please don't wait until it is too late. Have you made the right decision ? Even though you are not worthy of GOD's mercy, HE wants to save you ! Right now, will you pray to GOD, asking the LORD JESUS CHRIST to forgive you and give you eternal life ? "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved." (Romans 10:13). If you sincerely want GOD to save you pray this prayer or one like it with all your heart:

LORD, I know that I am a sinner, and I believe YOU died and rose again for me. I am trusting YOU to forgive me, come into my heart and save me. help me to live for YOU always. In JESUS' name I pray, AMEN.

     Everlasting life begins when we receive CHRIST as our SAVIOR. The LORD JESUS said, "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish" (John 10:28). Don't put it off, no one is guaranteed any more time than this very moment. IT IS THE GREATEST DECISION OF YOUR LIFE !

" GOD's Last Name is NOT Damn ! "

 

     Many people strive to make a name for themselves. A person's name symbolizes not only what they have accomplished in their lifetime, but it also reveals their character, whether good or bad. The Bible states, "A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches. . ." (Proverbs 22:1). In fact, GOD values HIS name so much that HE gave the following command: "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy GOD in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that takes HIS name in vain." (Exodus 20:7).

     The Bible is the record of GOD's love for mankind. Throughout the Bible, many names referring to GOD are given, and each name gives a different aspect of GOD's character. For instance, Isaiah 9:6 states, "For unto us a CHILD is born, unto us a SON is given: and the government shall be upon HIS shoulder: and HIS name shall be called WONDERFUL, COUNSELOR, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, THE PRINCE OF PEACE." These names refer to the precious SON of GOD, and each name gives a glimpse of GOD's character.

     Not only does the Bible show the character of GOD, but it also reveals the depravity of man. Romans 3:12 states, ". . .there is none that does good, no, not one." "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of GOD;" (Romans 3:23). Your sin has earned spiritual death, separation from a HOLY GOD, and an eternity in a Devil's Hell. "For the wages of sin is death . . ." (Romans 6:23a). "And death and hell were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire." (Revelation 20:14-15).

     The Good News is that GOD's love for you gives you a way of escape. This way is revealed in HIS name. Matthew 1:21 states, "And she shall bring forth a SON, and thou shalt call HIS name JESUS: for HE shall save HIS people from their sins." GOD loves you so much that HE sent HIS SON to pay the penalty for your sins. "But GOD commended HIS love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, CHRIST died for us." (Romans 5:8). JESUS' death on the cross paid your sin debt in full, if you will only believe in HIM. JESUS stated in John 5:24, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, HE that hears MY WORD, and believes on HIM that sent ME, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."

     The Bible was ". . .written, that ye might believe that JESUS is the CHRIST, the SON of GOD; and that believing ye might have life through HIS name." (John 20:30-31). There is no other way to obtain salvation. "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12). Doing good deeds will not earn your salvation. GOD said, "He that believes on HIM is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten SON of GOD." (John 3:18). GOD's WORD gives us the Gospel in 1st.Corinthians 15:1-4, "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that HE was buried, and that HE rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:"

     Obtaining salvation and an eternity in Heaven is so simple. GOD gives you this promise: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD JESUS, and shalt believe in thine heart that GOD hath raised HIM from the dead, thou shalt be saved. . .For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved." (Romans 10:9-13).

     If it is your desire to be saved, please pray this simple prayer or one like it with all your heart:

LORD, I know that I am a sinner, and I believe YOU died and rose again for me. I am trusting YOU to forgive me, come into my heart and save me. Help me to live for YOU always. In JESUS' name I pray, AMEN.

     What's in a name ? Philippians 2:9-11 says that the name of JESUS is ". . .above every name: That at the name of JESUS every knee should bow . . .And that every tongue should confess that JESUS CHRIST is LORD, to the glory of GOD the FATHER." One day, you will believe in GOD, but will you be too late ? Please do not take your salvation lightly ! Trust in CHRIST today ! ". . .BEHOLD ! NOW is the accepted time; BEHOLD ! NOW is the day of salvation." (2nd.Corinthians 6:2b).
