John 3:16 " For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS only begotten SON, that whosoever believeth in HIM should not perish but have everlasting life. "
JESUS CHRIST is GOD's love gift personified. HE gave HIS best. HE was not stingy with HIS gift, nor was HE reluctant in HIS giving. HE "so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only begotten SON." GOD's love was not limited to the cross but was expressed from eternity past. GOD loved us in that all the prophecies of CHRIST's first coming were literally fulfilled to the jot and tittle (the letter). GOD loved us in that JESUS, the Eternal SON, "made HIMSELF of no reputation, and took upon HIM the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men" (Philippians 2:7), all without ever ceasing to be GOD. Yes, "great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the flesh" (1st.Timothy 3:16).
"GOD is love," and "love is of GOD" (1st.John 4:7-8). The baby in the manger was the "SAVIOR, which is CHRIST the LORD" (Luke 2:11). HE came "to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10; Matthew 18:11). Being given the name "JESUS," meaning "JEHOVAH saves," HE came to "save HIS people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21). HE came "that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). HE came "not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give HIS life a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28; Mark 10:45). "What shall we then say to these things ?" (Romans 8:31-32). Yes, JESUS is GOD's love-gift to you ! Have you received HIS gift ? "But as many as received HIM, to them gave HE power to become the sons of GOD, even to them that believe on HIS name" (John 1:12). Oh "thanks be unto GOD for HIS unspeakable gift" (2nd.Corinthians 9:15) ! PNF
