1st.Corinthians 15:3-9 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that HE was buried, and that HE rose again the third day according to the Scriptures: and that He was seen of Cephas (Peter), then of the twelve: after that, HE was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, HE was seen of James; then of all the Apostles. And last of all HE was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. For I am the least of the Apostles, that am not meet to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the church of GOD."
Charles Maurice De Tallyrand, a French clergyman and diplomat was approached by someone who said to him, "I am come to found a new religion." "Then there is one thing you must do," Tallyrand replied, "What's that ?" inquired the man. "You must allow yourself to be crucified and you must rise again." The great central facts of the Gospel are the death, burial, and resurrection of JESUS, which Paul clearly declared to the believers at Corinth: "CHRIST died for our sins according to the Scriptures; And. . .HE was buried, and. . .HE rose again the third day according to the Scriptures: And. . .HE was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve" (vv.3-5 pictured at top of post).
It is clear that this message was dear to the heart of the Apostle. To the believers at Rome, he declared, "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of CHRIST: for it is the power of GOD unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek" (Romans 1:16 2nd Picture above). In fact, this faithful servant of the LORD acknowledged, "For though I preach the Gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the Gospel !" (1st.Corinthians 9:16 pictured above). What the world needs today is not another religion, which is simply the manifestation of man's ideas and opinions as to how to reach GOD, but rather a reiteration of the message of GOD's WORD in the Gospel message. The LORD JESUS CHRIST "bare our sins in HIS own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed" (1st.Peter 2:24 pictured below) -- not religion, but CHRIST ! HE died for our sins; HE was buried; on the third day, HE rose in triumph from the grave. Trust HIM; HE is the only way. JED
Your servant in CHRIST,
