"The Consistency of the SAVIOR"

John 8:1-2 "JESUS went unto the Mount of Olives. And early in the morning HE came again into the temple, and all the people came unto HIM; and HE sat down, and taught them."
What makes today's text so amazing is the context in which the LORD JESUS calmly sat and taught the people in the temple. In the previous chapters of John's Gospel, the Jewish leaders persecuted JESUS and even plotted to arrest and kill HIM (John 7:1 pictured above, 32, 45-53). The religious leadership hated JESUS and HIS message, for HE claimed to be GOD, HE revealed their hypocrisy, and HE rejected their vain traditions. Yet despite the harassment HE continually faced, once again we see JESUS back to work doing the will of HIS FATHER. HE was always willing to teach those who took the time to hear HIS message; HE certainly was not afraid of the opinions or the schemes of men. JESUS CHRIST consistently followed GOD the FATHER's plan, regardless of the cost.
CHRIST's remarkable consistency compels us, as HIS followers, to ask ourselves, "How consistent are we ?" Do we allow our life and service to be dictated by the world around us ? Are we afraid of what people may think and thus alter our behavior or lifestyle in order to avoid their scorn ? The endeavor to please men is crippling the church today. Satan wants believers to be incapacitated by apprehension, causing them to modify their beliefs, conduct, and actions as a result. Why do so many professing Christians today twist GOD's WORD and change their ministries ? It is because they dread the derision of men and want to be accepted by everyone. Our SAVIOR, however, continued to proclaim the truth and to live a life that honored the FATHER because HE did not fear what others thought (2nd.Timothy 1:7-8 pictured above). Let us, like JESUS, remain "steadfast [and] unmovable" (1st.Corinthians 15:58), consistently carrying out GOD's work GOD's way. MDC
Your servant in CHRIST,
Julie
