Matthew 7:24-29 "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a ROCK: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a ROCK. And every one that heareth these sayings of MINE, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. And it came to pass, when JESUS had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at HIS doctrine: for HE taught them as ONE having authority, and not as the scribes."
The wise man built his house upon the ROCK ! A house must be built on a ROCK-solid foundation, or else it will fail to withstand the storms of life and will be destroyed (v.27). The Bible provides foundational truths on which an individual, a family, and a nation must stand. If such supports are destroyed, it will have devastating effects on society, which tragically we are witnessing, in our nation and around the world, today. Here are three key foundational truths:
1.) Man was created by GOD. "So GOD created man in HIS OWN image, in the image of GOD created HE him" (Genesis 1:27 pictured above). Man did not evolve by blind chance from primitive organisms to ape-like ancestors over the course of millions of years. Instead, man was created for a purpose by an all-powerful, all-wise CREATOR (Isaiah 43:7; Revelation 4:11). We are accountable and answerable to the ONE WHO made us. Man's eternal destiny depends on his reception or rejection of the CREATOR (Romans 1:21-32).
2.) Every person has been assigned a gender by GOD. "Male and female created HE them" (Genesis 1:27 pictured at top of post). For a person to assign himself or herself a different gender is no less absurd than to have a short, white, elderly man identify as a 6'8" young Chinese woman. When GOD made us the way we are, HE did not make a mistake !
3.) The marriage union has been defined by GOD. "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh" (Genesis 2:24). What GOD hath defined, let no man or so-called church redefine ! GOD has even engraved HIS definition of marriage and the family right into the heart of the Ten Commandments: "Honor thy father and they mother" (Exodus 20:12). We neglect these foundational truths at our own, and future generations, peril ! GWZ
