" How to be SAVED and KNOW IT "

IF YOU SHOULD DIE TODAY,
WHERE WOULD YOU SPEND ETERNITY ?

No one likes to think about death, but death comes to everyone. GOD tells us in HIS WORD, "And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" (Hebrews 9:27). Since death is so certain, you must prepare to meet GOD. According to GOD's WORD, you will spend eternity in one of two places - either in Heaven or in a Devil's Hell. "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment (hell); but the righteous into life eternal (Heaven)." (Matthew 25:46).

EVERY PERSON BORN INTO THIS
WORLD INHERITED A SINFUL NATURE.

". . . and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others." (Ephesians 2:3b). "Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12). "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me." (Psalm 51:5). "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it ?" (Jeremiah 17:9).

THIS SINFUL NATURE PRODUCES
ALL SORTS OF EVIL DEEDS.

"For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within, and defile the man." (Mark 7:21-23). You must admit you are a sinner. Admit it not only to yourself, but also admit it to GOD. There is absolutely no chance for you to be saved from Hell unless you know that you are a sinner. GOD's WORD declares it and you must believe it ! Because you are a sinner, you are destined for Hell for all eternity. "For the wages of sin is death . . ." (Romans 6:23a) ". . . and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death." (James 1:15)

THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO
TO SAVE YOURSELF.

You cannot be good enough. ". . . there is none that does good, no, not one." (Romans 3:12). You cannot be saved by keeping the Law. Joining a church and being water baptized will not even help save you. ". . . by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified." (Galatians 2:16). You are helpless. You cannot save yourself !

HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS OF THE GOSPEL:

In spite of your sin, GOD loves you and has done everything necessary for your salvation. "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel . . . by which also ye are saved,. . . For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that HE was buried, and that HE rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:" (1st.Corinthians 15:1a,2a,3-4). "For when we were yet without strength (helpless), in due time CHRIST died for the ungodly." (Romans 5:6). "For CHRIST also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that HE might bring us to GOD, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the SPIRIT:" (1st.Peter 3:18).

JUST BELIEVING INTELLECTUALLY THAT YOU
ARE A SINNER, THAT GOD LOVES YOU, AND
THAT CHRIST DIED FOR YOU IS NOT ENOUGH.

You must apply this to yourself personally by repenting (turning to GOD from your sin) and receiving the LORD JESUS CHRIST as your own SAVIOR and LORD. Repentance is a "change of mind" brought to your heart by the HOLY SPIRIT through the WORD of GOD. It causes you to turn from your sins, dead religion, and works to trust CHRIST alone. ". . . except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3). "But as many as received HIM, to them gave HE power to become the sons of GOD, even to them that believe on HIS name." (John 1:12). ". . . all men . . ." (Acts 17:30) are commanded to repent and therefore can.
DON'T PUT IT OFF - DO IT NOW !
". . . BEHOLD, NOW is the accepted time, BEHOLD, NOW is the day of salvation." (2nd.Corinthians 6:2b). "Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon HIM while HE is near:" (Isaiah 55:6).
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved." (Romans 10:13).
". . . all men . . ." (1st.Timothy 2:4,6) can be saved.
Wherever you are right now, tell GOD that you are a lost sinner, ask HIM to forgive you of your sins, and receive the LORD JESUS CHRIST as your SAVIOR. Claim salvation by faith. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of GOD: NOT of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9).

YOU MAY PRAY THIS SIMPLE PRAYER OR ONE
LIKE IT, MEANING IT WITH ALL YOUR HEART:

LORD, I know that I am a sinner, and I believe that YOU died and rose again for me. I am trusting YOU to forgive me, come into my heart and save me. Help me to live for YOU always. In JESUS' name I pray, AMEN.

HOW TO BE SAVED AND KNOW IT.

"For GOD so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only begotten SON, that whosoever (that means you) believes in HIM should not perish (no hell for you) but have everlasting life (Heaven awaits)." John 3:16
"Verily, verily, I (JESUS) say unto you, he that hears MY WORD, and believes on HIM that sent ME, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24).
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the SON of GOD; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, that ye may believe on the name of the only SON of GOD." (1st.John 5:13) GOD has made the only way of being saved and to know it - now it is your turn to take the next step - BELIEVE !

" JESUS SAVES "

Perhaps you have seen these words on a billboard or on a banner in a stadium.

JESUS  SAVES
is not just a phrase made up
by some religious fanatic.
They come from the Bible.
The words save, saved,
SAVIOR, and salvation are
found hundreds of times
in GOD's WORD.

JESUS is the SAVIOR, the ONE WHO saves.
"And she shall bring forth a SON, and thou shalt call HIS name JESUS: for HE shall save HIS people from their sins." Matthew 1:21
"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a SAVIOR, which is CHRIST the LORD." Luke 2:11

JESUS came to save lost sinners.
"For the SON of MAN is come to seek and to save that which was lost." Luke 19:10
"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that CHRIST JESUS came into the world to save sinners." 1st.Timothy 1:15

JESUS is the only ONE WHO can save.
"Be it known unto you all . . . that by the name of JESUS CHRIST of Nazareth, WHOM ye crucified, WHOM GOD raised from the dead, even by HIM doth this man stand here before you whole . . . Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:10-12
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto to you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that HE was buried, and that HE rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:" 1st.Corinthians 15:1-4

JESUS gives us the faith we need to be saved.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of GOD: NOT of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

JESUS saves those who believe in HIM.
"For GOD so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only begotten SON, that whosoever believes in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life. For GOD sent not HIS SON into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through HIM might be saved. He that believes on HIM is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he hath not believe in the name of the only begotten SON of GOD." John 3:16-18

JESUS saves anyone who asks HIM.
". . .Sirs, what must I do to be saved ? And they said, Believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:30a-31
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved." Romans 10:13

JESUS saves now and forever.
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to HIS mercy HE saved us . . . That being justified by HIS grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life." Titus 3:5a,7

JESUS wants you to be saved today.
". . . BEHOLD, NOW is the accepted time; BEHOLD, NOW is the day of salvation." 2nd.Corinthians 6:2b
". . . There is no GOD else beside ME; a just GOD and a SAVIOR; there is none beside me. Look unto ME, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I AM GOD, and there is none else." Isaiah 45:21,22

If you would like JESUS to save you right now, this moment, pray this prayer with all your heart in complete acceptance of CHRIST coming to die for your sins:

LORD, I know that I am a sinner, and I believe YOU died and rose again for me. I am trusting YOU to forgive me, come into my heart and save me. Help me to live for YOU always. In JESUS' name I pray, AMEN

And these promises are given to you who have believed and confessed JESUS as their SAVIOR in prayer: "And this is the record, that GOD hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in HIS SON. He that hath the SON hath life; and he that hath not the SON of GOD hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the SON of GOD; that ye may KNOW that ye HAVE eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the SON of GOD." 1st.John 5:11-13

" THE GIFT OF DEATH "

THE GIFT OF DEATH
All things are yours...life...death...all are yours.
1st.Corinthians 3:21-23

There are no shadows in death with JESUS.
There are no valleys we must walk through.
Death is only a doorway,
And all of Heaven awaits you.

Our vision on earth is limited -
We see only into the blue,
But in death our vision is endless -
All of glory comes into view.

Death takes hold of the the body,
And our race on earth is through.
The battle for us is over;
With open arms HE welcomes you.

So fear not the end of life's journey.
Believe what GOD says is true.
Death has been defeated !
And now it is HIS gift to you.

Dr. Tom Sexton

THE  GIFT  OF  DEATH

The Bible says, "It is appointed unto man once to die." (Hebrew 9:27) This means that people only live one time. They do not come back again and again; they only die one time. The LORD JESUS said, "If a man keep MY saying, he shall never see death." (John 8:51-52) People next to a dying person see them die, but the one who is dying (if they are a believer) does not see death; they only see JESUS. Because JESUS said, "I AM the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in ME, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in ME shall never die." (John 11:25)

When Stephen was being stoned, he said before he died, "Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the SON of MAN standing on the right hand of GOD." (Acts 7:56) Stephen did not see death. He saw JESUS. The Bible says, "to be absent from the body, and to be present with the LORD." (2nd.Corinthians 5:8) When Christians die they leave this world and step into Heaven. Death is only a doorway and JESUS is "the DOOR." (John 10:7) People who die without CHRIST see death and hell, but believers see JESUS and Heaven.

JESUS said, "Because I live ye shall live also." (John 14:19) When HE arose from the grave HE defeated Death, Hell and the Grave. There are no more shadows and valleys in death because "the light shineth in darkness." (John 1:5) What do you want to see when you die: death and hell or JESUS and Heaven ? The choice is yours.

ACKNOWLEDGE you are a sinner. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of GOD." Romans 3:23

BELIEVE the LORD JESUS CHRIST died for you. "But GOD commendeth HIS love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, CHRIST died for us." Romans 5:8

CALL upon the LORD to save you. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved." Romans 10:13

LORD, I know that I am a sinner, and I believe YOU died and rose again for me. I am trusting YOU to forgive me. Come into my heart and save me, and help me to live for YOU always. In JESUS' name I pray, AMEN.

" Learning from Fanatics ! "

Hebrews 10:19-25  "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of JESUS, by a new and living way, which HE hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, HIS flesh; and having an HIGH PRIEST over the house of GOD; let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for HE is faithful that promised:) and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the Day approaching."

What a privilege it is to assemble together with GOD's people and to continue steadfastly in the doctrine of the Apostles, in fellowship, in breaking of bread, and in prayer (Acts 2:42)! Yet, sometimes our faithfulness to the local assembly of believers can be lukewarm and sporadic. We need to learn some lessons from fanatical sports fans:

1. Fans arrive early. They hate to be late to a game. They do not want to miss anything.

2. Fans want the best seats, usually the seats closest to the action. Who ever heard of a fan wanting to sit way toward the back ? The best seats are those near the front.

3. Fans actively participate with gusto. They are vocal; they cheer; they stand; they clap. Yet some worshipers barely even open their mouth when they sing.

4. Fans never miss a game. Distance is not an issue. they will drive many miles to a game. Money is not a problem. They are willing to pay for very expensive tickets. The weather is not a deterrent. They will drive through rain, wind, and snow rather than miss a game.

5. Fans are knowledgeable. They know every fact about their team and every statistic about their players. They can tell a friend details from a game that they saw days earlier. But, how many Christians have a working knowledge of the Scriptures and can give a detailed recounting of the Bible message they just heard ?

6. Fans have no problem if the game goes longer than normal. They love overtime and extra-inning games and do not care when they get home or if their meal is delayed. How do Christians respond when a Pastor goes ten minutes longer than usual ?

May GOD help us to be fully devoted to that which is far more important than sports !

" You Can Be Forgiven ~ It Cannot Be That Simple ! "

John 3:15-16  "That whosoever believes in HIM should not perish, but have eternal life. For GOD so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only begotten SON, that whosoever believes in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life."

It cannot be that simple ! That is just too easy ! Surely, I have to do something ! Why do so many people attempt to complicate the Gospel (the Good News) message ? It really is so simple. men and women are sinners - born sinners and also rebels against GOD by choice. Sin cannot dwell in GOD's presence, so sinners cannot dwell with GOD. If sinners are to be accepted by GOD, the penalty for sin must be paid, but the sinner cannot pay the penalty himself and live - the sinner must die. So GOD sent HIS SON to earth to die as man's substitute and rise again and to offer salvation to any and all who would believe in HIS sacrificial and atoning death. Over and over again, the Bible emphasizes the simplicity of the message and means of Salvation: "For GOD so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only begotten SON, that whosoever believes in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life" (v.16). "Believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:31). "But as many as received HIM (JESUS CHRIST), to them gave HE power to become the sons of GOD, even to them that believe on HIS name" (John 1:12). "Whosoever believes in HIM should not perish, but have eternal life" (v.15).

It really is not complicated. Do not attempt to introduce your own efforts or works of righteousness. They fall far short of the perfect righteousness demanded in order to approach an all HOLY GOD. Simply acknowledge to GOD that you are a sinner, you know and believe CHRIST paid the penalty of death for your sins, and, in complete trust, receive HIM now as your substitute. "Without faith it is impossible to please {GOD}" (Hebrews 11:6). Come to HIM now by faith. If you do, welcome to the family of GOD ! JED
