Revelation 4:1-11 "After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in Heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit; and, behold, a throne was set in Heaven, and ONE sat on the throne. And HE that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thundering's and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of GOD.
And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honor and thanks to HIM that sat on the throne, WHO liveth for ever and ever, the four and twenty elders fall down before HIM that sat on the throne, and worship HIM that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, THOU art worthy, O LORD, to receive glory and honor and power: for THOU hast created all things, and for THY pleasure they are and were created."
Why did GOD create me ?
1. I was created for HIS glory (Isaiah 43:7 pictured above). GOD's chief purpose in all that HE does is to bring glory to HIMSELF.
2. I was created for HIS pleasure: "For THOU hast created all things and for THY pleasure they are and were created" (v.11 captioned at the top of the post). The word "pleasure" here means "will." All things were made to fulfill GOD's perfect will.
3. I was created for JESUS CHRIST: "All things were created by HIM (JESUS CHRIST), and for HIM" (Colossians 1:16). I am not on this Earth by blind chance; I am here because of CHRIST: to know HIM and to make HIM known to others.
Why did GOD recreate me ?
1. I was recreated so that I could be "to the praise of the glory of HIS grace . . . according to the riches of HIS grace . . . that we should be to the praise of HIS glory . . . unto the praise of HIS glory" (Ephesians 1:6-7 pictured above, 12,14).
2. I was recreated "in CHRIST JESUS unto good works, which GOD hath before ordained that [I] should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10).
3. I was recreated so that I might put on display "the new man, which after GOD is created in righteousness and true holiness" (Ephesians 4:24). I am to reflect the LORD's righteousness and holiness by my walk and by my talk.
4. I was recreated so that I might show forth the praises (excellencies) of HIM WHO called me "out of darkness into HIS marvelous light" (1st.Peter 2:9).
5. I was recreated in order to radiate "the light of the knowledge of the glory of GOD in the face of JESUS CHRIST" (2nd.Corinthians 4:6 pictured below). In the old creation, HE "commanded the light to shine out of darkness"; in the new creation, HE shined HIS light in my sin-darkened heart so that HE might radiate forth from my life -- all to the praise of HIS glory ! GWZ
