2nd.Timothy 4:8 "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the LORD the Righteous JUDGE, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love HIS appearing."
The Righteous JUDGE - In 2nd.Timothy 4:8, the Apostle Paul calls JESUS "the Righteous JUDGE." Within the context of this verse, Paul is describing the LORD's evaluation of the saints in relation to the future judgment seat of CHRIST (2nd.Corinthians 5:9-10 pictured above) where HE will judge believers' works (or lack thereof). As the omniscient GOD, JESUS knows our every action and motive, and HE alone is able to determine whether we will receive or forfeit reward for our thoughts and actions here on Earth. But CHRIST is also the Righteous JUDGE in relation to those who reject HIS gift of everlasting life. GOD the FATHER ordained JESUS to be the "JUDGE of quick (living) and dead" (Acts 10:42). Those who refuse CHRIST as their SAVIOR will face eternal damnation while all who put their faith in HIM will enjoy eternal life and fellowship with GOD. The wicked may seem to prosper now, but the Righteous JUDGE will execute justice in the end (Revelation Chapters 19 & 20).
A Strong Tower - Proverbs 18:10, pictured above, tells us, "The name of the LORD is a strong tower." Those who possess a personal relationship with the CREATOR of the universe can have confidence in the omnipotence and impenetrability of JESUS CHRIST. Nothing can harm HIM, destroy HIM, or change HIM. Therefore, those who are "in" HIM can always run to this Strong Tower and find safety. David wrote concerning the LORD, "THOU hast been a shelter for me, and a Strong Tower from the enemy" (Psalm 61:3). As weak, finite human beings, we need protection from those who seek to persecute and destroy us. How grateful we should be that we can always find such perfect security by fortifying ourselves in the very person and WORD of our SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST. MDC
Your servant in CHRIST,
